- Possess the necessary accreditation or the equivalent from the relevant governing agencies or institutions in the above fields, and

Yes, there is a membership fee for all individuals who intend to join NICA as a member. The cost for membership is $117 a year and the breakdown are as follows: $9 a month from January to November and $18 in December. This is just $0.32 a day!
Being a NICA member automatically means that you are an NTUC member, and you will get to enjoy the suite of benefits that come with an NTUC membership. You will also get to enjoy curated NICA membership benefits. Once you sign up as a member, you may start shopping at FairPrice outlets to enjoy rebates or join in complimentary/ subsidies events conducted frequently by NICA.
1. NTUC Care Fund (Special Assistance) 2023
Application opens on 5 June
Starting from 5 June to 21 July, the NTUC Care Fund (Special Assistance) is open for applications via OneCare (click here to access) and we invite you to apply for it if you meet the criteria. Please refer to the following table for the revised income criteria and quantum.

2. NICA Hardship Grant
NICA Hardship Grant provides a one-time $100 to members to help defray their financial burden under hardship circumstances. The Executive Committee may grant a higher amount depending on the hardship in which the member is in. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of his/her application through email in about 3-4 weeks upon submission of all required supporting documents. The decision made by NICA on the outcome of the application shall be final.
Eligibility Criteria
As NICA members, you can apply for the assistance if you fulfill the following criteria:

an Ordinary Branch member of NICA
You must be...
an active coach and/or instructor
You must have...
at least 3 months of continuous union membership
You must have...
An orange or blue CHAS holder or a successful Covid-19 Recovery Grant (CRG) applicant
Documents Required
All completed forms are to be returned to NICA together with the following applicable documents:
- NROC membership
- Latest contract between member and service buyers
- Latest invoice issued from member to service buyers
- Orange/Blue CHAS card
- Approval letter and/or SMS of the successful applicant of CRG
- Emails, SMS, letter as proof of postpone or cancellation of jobs (if member suffers from total or sudden unexpected loss of income)
- Notice of Assessment or Form 144 to establish average month income in previous year
- Medical report, medical certificates or doctor’s letter (if member suffers from long term illness)
- Death certificate of member or spouse (if applicable)
- Member and his/her spouse’s latest income documents (Notice of Assessment or CPF statement)
- Divorce certificate or divorce petition (if applicant is a divorcee)
- Other relevant documents to substantiate claims or financial hardship
You must also satisfy the conditions (listed below) to which you apply for the grant.
Here are the criterias for each type of coverage:
Member is suffering from financial hardship due to postponement or cancellation of jobs (with supporting documents). Eperienced a loss of at least 30% income at the point of application, compared to their average monthly income in previous year (e.g. May 2021 vs average monthy income in year 2020)
Member is suffering from financial hardship (with supporting documents)
- Spouse is not working or
- Spouse earns a low income
Members who suffer from other forms of financial hardship are also eligible to apply for the grant but is subject to approval of the Executive Committee

3. Promotion of Virtual Programmes

Terms and Conditions
- As this would be a direct outreach to the NTUC membership base, we would like to seek participating NICA members’ support to extend a special rate of at least 5% off the usual price to NTUC members who present their NTUC Plus! Card or e-card.
- NTUC members will sign-up by emailing our members directly.
- Promotion is valid for first-time sign-ups only and valid until 30 June 2021. If required, NICA will seek consent from our members to extend the promotion period.
